Apparently we are genetically designed to expect some blood loss, so you should go lose some. Right now. Men, in particular, have no way to excrete excess iron besides blood loss or chelation (dangerous). This probably applies to all heavy metals as well.
Simple solution? You should go hit up a Red Cross location and donate your 2 cups of “whole blood” though standard donation–not apheresis.
I donated yesterday. It takes about an hour, you meet some nice people, and you might see some neat retro WW2 posters. They give you snacks and you get a sticker on your shirt that proves you are an outstanding person. Have fun with it.
