Wild Planet Wild Albacore Tuna Canned

  1. I recently began pulsing albacore tuna in a food processor rather than mashing it with a fork and the results are more consistent and satisfying. The nutrients in Wild Planet Albacore Tuna are off the chart, but albacore in a can is still tough because of pasteurization.  The food processor helps this problem by making the texture effortlessly soft and more like a pate.
  2. In case you were wondering, despite the extra nutrients, wild caught status, etc.,  I found the flavor of Wild Planet’s Albacore Tuna to be no better than any other albacore tuna, in my opinion.  This was noteworthy because I was hoping the albacore tuna would be as amazing as Wild Planet Sardines which are my favorite.
  3. Also noteworthy: The can design of Wild Planet Tuna is brilliant. You can open them without a can opener, and the label is rightside-up when the can is upside-down. Why is this good? Because the side that opens is protected from dust when it faces down, but you can still read the can. Great attention to detail on their part.
