Things I learned making a mixtape

Things I learned making a mixtape

1. The slower the build-up a song has, the better suited it is to follow songs that seem impossible to follow. Longer silences can help too.

2. After the first 3-4 tracks, the mixtape will fade into the background and doesn’t need to be too heavily scrutinized beyond that point.

3. You can use the same band as long as they are 3-4 songs apart so the listener forgets what they’ve already heard.  It just works.

4. Consider that the CD may loop around back to the first track when it is over. This can be a good thing.
