The biggest factor in getting someone to change their diet is adherence. If an individual is opposed to eating certain food items such as meat, or if making too many changes too quickly is a confusing problem, or if asking a person to give up certain foods is asking too much, these tips will help a person reach certain health goals with as little effort as possible.
- Eat 1x baked sweet potato or yam daily w/ coconut oil.
– Yam as a daily requirement will add approximately 40g of carbohydrate to a person’s diet and should unintentionally cause them to reduce carbohydrate from other sugars and bread by about 40g without consciously doing so. This dietary change receives buy-in from most everyone. Sweet potato is soluble fiber which everyone agrees is helpful.
– Coconut Oil is ~62% medium-chain triglycerides (MCT). MCTs are so easily digested that they are the perfect form of brain food. They encourage the body to make ketones, which is the preferred energy source by all organs in the human body, including the brain. Even western medicine agrees that coconut oil can be used to treat Alzheimer’s disease and epilepsy. - Take 1 tbsp daily of Fish Oil.
– Fish oil is one of the few supplements that is worth your effort and cash to acquire. Much of what the Paleo diet is about is raising your Omega-3 and lowering your Omega-6. Even vegetarians (who sometimes eat fish) will agree to take fish oil, and believe it to be healthy. This is correct.
