Logical vs. Emotional Decision Outcomes

Reader Question: What is an example of a scenario where making a decision based on emotion rather than on logic will lead to a better overall long term outcome?

Justin: Your subjective personal experience trumps everything else. So neither logic nor emotion is a universally ideal choice. What scenario? Every passing moment that you craft your personal experience. You should choose whatever will give you the most consecutive moments of happiness, peace, or contentment. Since this is entirely subjective, no one can tell you which scenario is “better.” You can even enjoy various forms of failure if you want.

Don’t deny your emotional needs simply because they aren’t “logical.” When you do that, you are not reaching the full potential and purpose of your existence. From this rich perspective, I think you will see that respecting your emotions can lead to a very rich life in ways you wouldn’t have otherwise known.
